Wes Streeting MP, Shadow Minister for Schools

This morning we held a virtual meeting with Wes Streeting MP, Shadow Minister for Schools to highlight the challenges facing schools and nurseries before and during the pandemic.

The event was organised by Lancashire Labour with former MP, Graham Jones introducing Wes Streeting MP.  There was an enjoyable discussion and an opportunity to share ideas and concerns.

A phone-banking session followed with members speaking with residents about issues and how they were coping with Lockdown.

Kimberley Whitehead, CLP Secretary said:

The session was extremely useful with lots of positive feedback and concerns from residents to take away.  It’s great to chat to residents, we get just as much out of it as they do.  It’s been a very difficult time for everyone and if we can help relieve some of the pressure by helping or just having a chat, we are more than happy to do so.

Almost 50 volunteers turned up to the session and we’d like to thank them and to thank Wes for taking the time to meet with us.

Jodi Clements, Rishton candidate who joined the session for the first time said:

“I really enjoyed calling residents today.  I had been a little nervous about it until I did it.  It was lovely to chat to people about how they are and whats going on in the world.  It’s something I encourage others to try and certainly something I will continue to do.”

Hyndburn Labour run daily phone banking sessions, if any members wishes to get involved please get in touch.

Training is offered with a smile 👏🏻🌹
